We have Gujarat’s first dedicated department that specialises in peritoneal surface oncology (HIPEC and PIPAC). Peritoneal cancers develop within the abdominal cavity lining the stomach and other organs with ovarian cancer being one of the most common type to spread to the abdomen. These cancers are usually diagnosed at later stages (IV). HIPEC, or Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy, is a procedure performed in conjunction with cytoreductive surgery (CRS) to remove cancerous tumours.
